O VII Congresso Internacional da American Portuguese Studies Association (APSA) será realizado na Brown niversity, em Providence, RI, de 7 a 9 de outubro de 2010.
Os interessados deverão enviar propostas individuais ou para mesas (3-4 comunicações) sobre quaisquer aspectos das culturas e literaturas luso-africanas, brasileira e portuguesa, bem como da língua e linguística portuguesa.
Todas as áreas de estudo serão consideradas. Painéis baseados no tema "Intercâmbios Transatlânticos" são particularmente bem-vindos, através de estudos interdisciplinares ou comparativos.

Diversidade global do mundo de língua portuguesa
Cinema português lusófono
Internacionalização das literaturas de língua portuguesa
Centenário da república portuguesa
Relações raciais
História intelectual do mundo de língua portuguesa
Patrícia Galvão (Pagu: 1910-1962) e o romance proletariado
Propostas com até 150 palavras deverão ser enviadas aos coordenadores

37th International Systemic Functional Congress

Hi everybody:
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to University of British Columbia, Canada for the 37th International Systemic Functional Congress (ISFC 37), 18-23rd July, 2010.
Plans for the congress are developing very well, with lots of proposals already submitted.
A quick reminder that paper and workshop proposals are due by JANUARY 29th. This is a firm deadline because the committee will be considering proposals and providing a response no later than March 15.

Earlybird registration is available to April 30th. Note, too, the congress dinner to be held at Sage Bistro on the Point Grey campus peninsula overlooking the spectacular Georgia Strait.
There are three Pre-congress Institute courses to take, presented by international leaders in SFL.
